"Kia" has been my mum's nickname for me since I was a child, and "tía" is the Spanish word for Aunty (which I proudly became in late 2015).

There are a whole range of things that once surprised or even shocked me, but which have now become part of my daily life in Mexico. Some of those I had already become accustomed during my travels in other parts of Latin America and Mexico, and others are fairly new to me.
